Consultation
Identify issues and address them
For services and organisations
Consulting involves helping clients and client services clarify identified issues and how to address them. This typically involves interviews with staff and their service users, assessment of current circumstances, risks and opportunities. It can include training or other collaborative exercises such as workshops and reflection. Assessment and review of policies and procedures, organisational culture and outcomes as part of the review process are also very helpful strategies.
My background in management, service review and development, auditing and staff training means that I can confidently and capably provide consultation on an individual, team, client and service level.
For the purpose of my practice, this would relate to the interactions of staff and clients with domestic companions, practical assistance animals, trauma and social support animals. It would encompass animals within work and support settings as well as community activities, special interests, and in financial and support plans. My considerations also extend to the benefits of virtual representations in toys, art, clothing, television, movies and media platforms. It would generally mean a rethinking of human and animal interactions across the culture and identity of organisations and its established services, and how it is possible to include more animal inclusive, pet-friendly practices for the known benefits.
Your service needs and how to realise them would be negotiated in early consultation with your organisation.
